Toriyama Akira's popular action fantasy manga and anime series Dragon Ball Z gets the Hollywood treatment in the 2009 live-action special-effects spectacle Dragonball Evolution! Directed by James Wong (Final Destination) and produced by Stephen Chow (Kung Fu Hustle), Dragonball Evolution follows the thrilling adventures of a young warrior called upon to battle an age-old evil. Justin Chatwin from Middle of Nowhere plays our iconic hero Goku, a disgruntled teen who's been training in martial arts since childhood but isn't allowed to use his powers on the bullies who harass him. Goku realizes there are dangers far greater than high school when his grandfather is killed by the demon lord Piccolo (James Marsters), who is trying to collect seven mystical dragon balls that grant their owner limitless power. Goku must get to the dragon balls first to save the world from Piccolo's evil designs! Goku is joined in his perilous mission by busty inventor Bulma (Emmy Rossum), laidback mercenary Yamcha (Joon Park of Korean pop group g.o.d), cute martial artist Chi Chi (Jamie Chung), and lascivious old Master Roshi, played by Hong Kong legend Chow Yun Fat.
